2. Principle
According to the HJ637-2018 national standard, fully automatic extraction of oil substances in water is carried out using reagent magnetic stirring, and then an oil-water separation membrane is used instead of anhydrous sodium sulfate to separate impurities and water, separating the solution of oil and reagent, and determining the total oil content of the extract. At the same time, after adsorption and removal of animal and vegetable oils and other substances by magnesium silicate, petroleum is determined.
The total extract and petroleum content were calculated based on the absorbance A2930, A2960, and A3030 at spectral bands with wave numbers of 2930 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH2 group), 2960 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH3 group), and 3030 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in aromatic ring), respectively.
